CSPD: Suspect punches officer, shrugs off taser during arrest

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — As police officers were attempting to arrest a suspect for assault on a family member, according to the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD), the suspect resisted arrest and punched an officer in the face on Saturday morning, Oct. 4.

According to CSPD, around 4:45 p.m., officers responded to reports of an in-progress family disturbance in the 4900 block of Mark Dabling Boulevard, near Austin Bluffs Parkway, and when they arrived, they found the suspect, later identified as 36-year-old Chaz Kimble, walking away from the home.

CSPD reported that Kimble did not cooperate with the officers’ instructions and began to fight back when being detained. During the fight, an officer was punched in the face, prompting the police to use a taser on Kimble, which was not effective.
