(COLORADO SPRINGS) — Three Evidence Technicians from the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) went above and beyond to show kindness to a victim of assault when she needed help on Wednesday, Sept. 24.
According to CSPD, an older woman entered the Property Return Office at the CSPD Annex, visibly confused, anxious, and distraught after having recently been the victim of an assault. She had been taken to the hospital for care, but afterwards was unable to locate her walker. As she struggled with her mobility, she relied on the walker and was in tears over its loss.
CSPD’s Evidence Technician Krysti Schofield reassured and comforted the woman and helped her sit down and rest as technicians worked to track down her walker. The woman was so tired and calmed by Schofield’s presence, she began to doze in the lobby.
Evidence Technicians Monica Madrid and Andrew Kovacevic got to work searching the evidence system for the walker, but were unable to track it down. Their manager called the assisting officer, who helped them expand their search with other CSPD resources…
