(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) said one of the victims of an early morning October shooting has been identified as 21-year-old Daniel Federico.
According to CSPD, on Sunday, Oct. 5, at around 2 a.m., officers were called to the 3500 block of North Academy Boulevard northwest of Montebello Drive West about a shooting. When police arrived, they found two men suffering from at least one gunshot wound each. One of the men was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. The other man was declared dead on the scene.
On Oct. 6, the El Paso County Coroner’s Office conducted an autopsy and identified the dead man as Federico. CSPD said while the coroner’s office will determine the cause and manner of death, the case is being investigated as a homicide.
