CSPD: Officers attacked with knife during arrest

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — A wanted man has been arrested after he attacked two Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) officers in a late-night altercation.

CSPD reported that just past 2:30 a.m. on Oct. 8, CSPD checked the area around 2800 East Pikes Peak Avenue, near the intersection of East Pikes Peak Avenue and South Circle Drive, for a wanted man: Jonathan Romero. Upon seeing him, officers chased after Romero, but when they caught up to him saw he had a knife.

According to CSPD, Romero fought against the officers trying to arrest him, striking two of them. But Romero was still brought into custody and was taken to a hospital for injuries sustained during the arrest. His charges are for Second Degree Assault, Obstruction of a Peace Officer, Resisting Arrest, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia…
