A Colorado Bureau of Investigation agent based in Pueblo has resigned from his position rather than be fired after being charged with bigamy in El Paso County.
Joseph Somosky, 50, was charged with bigamy — the act of entering into a marriage with one person while still legally married to another — by the Fourth Judicial District Attorney’s Office on July 20, according to a CBI news release. Bigamy is a Class 2 misdemeanor in Colorado.
“The CBI placed him on administrative leave as soon as it learned of the charge and conducted an internal investigation into the alleged conduct,” CBI officials said in the release. “Somosky resigned in lieu of termination following the conclusion of the investigation.”…
