CSPD: Repeat offender caught in stolen Toyota Tundra

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — After a multi-day investigation, Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) officers tracked down a stolen 2000 Toyota Tundra and arrested the suspect, who turned out to be a prolific motor vehicle theft offender, according to CSPD.

CSPD reported that the Toyota was stolen on Monday, Oct. 6, which had been taken from the victim’s driveway while the car’s doors were unlocked and the key was in the vehicle. Two days later, on Oct. 8, around 10:40 p.m., an officer tried to stop the stolen Toyota, but it sped off and turned off the headlights.

On Thursday, Oct. 9, Officers found the stolen vehicle near the intersection of Astrozon Boulevard and Hancock Expressway, according to CSPD. The two officers followed the suspect, later identified as 24-year-old Kameron Martinez, to the 1900 Block of South Chelton Road, near Jet Wing Drive.
