DENVER (KDVR) — Law enforcement agencies in Colorado continue to enforce safe driving habits with DUI checkpoints across the state.
On Friday and Saturday night last weekend, DUI checkpoints were set up in Douglas and Arapahoe counties.
Lakewood police warn of ‘unsafe’ area with ‘agitated’ elk
A team consisting of officers from the Colorado State Patrol-Pikes Peak DUI Team, Colorado State Patrol-Statewide DUI Team and the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office were positioned at each location.
The checkpoints resulted in 203 people being contacted, and a staggering number of arrests were made. Together, the checkpoints had statistics, including:
- Total contacts: 203
- Total number of roadsides: 21
- DUI arrests: 19
- Other citations: 44
- Non-DUI arrests: 2
