Man ‘lucky to be alive’ after brutal stabbing by roommate for ‘borrowing his sugar’

A man is counting his blessings after he was allegedly stabbed in the neck by his roommate following a dispute over a missing bag of sugar.

Austin Sivesind, 48, a landscape construction worker from Colorado Springs, claims he had to barricade himself in the bathroom and dial 911 to escape the violent encounter.

The September 2 incident left him with stab wounds to his temple, throat, bicep, and hands – injuries that doctors say he was fortunate to survive.
