(COLORADO SPRINGS) — Friday, Oct. 24, is Free Legal Resource Day, and the 4th Judicial District Access to Justice Committee is offering several resources to the community. Lisa Younger Anderson and Judge Dennis McGuire joined FOX21 Morning News to talk about what people can expect.
“We have classes on small claims, on tenants’ rights, how to get a protection order, and also the last one is how to navigate the debt collection process,” said Judge McGuire.
“One of the most expensive things you can do is go through a court case. A court case can cost you anything from just a few hundred dollars for a consultation to tens of thousands of dollars, depending on the type of case,” said Judge McGuire. “Most people can’t afford that, so this is an opportunity for people to educate themselves so they can navigate through the court process.”…
