CSFD: Person saved from mobile home fire by neighbor

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The Colorado Springs Fire Department (CSFD) is crediting the actions of a good neighbor for saving a person from a mobile home fire on Thursday morning, Oct. 30.

According to CSFD, fire crews responded shortly before 7 a.m. on Thursday to a structure fire at the Aspen Grove Mobile Home Park on Busch Avenue, south of Old Colorado City. When the first engine arrived on scene, they found a mobile home fully engulfed in flames. CSFD said the fire quickly spread to nearby cars and two other mobile homes.

While on scene, firefighters received information that one person had been inside the home when the fire started. Firefighters located the person outside the home and provided medical aid. He was then taken to the hospital, where he was reportedly stable and being treated for minor burns.

It was later learned that the man’s neighbor pulled him out of the trailer, likely saving his life…
