CSPD investigates second shooting at same shopping center in a week

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) responded to a call about multiple businesses in a shopping center that had been damaged by gunfire on Sunday, Nov. 2. This was the second time in a week this situation had occurred in the same area, according to police.

CSPD reported that around 7:30 a.m., a call came in reporting that multiple businesses in a shopping center on Astrozon Boulevard, near South Academy Boulevard, had broken windows. When officers arrived, they determined that the damage had been caused by gunfire at around 3 a.m. on Sunday. According to CSPD, a similar situation had occurred in the same shopping center during the early morning hours of Sunday, Oct. 26.

Police are actively working to identify suspects and their vehicles. It is unknown if anyone was injured in the shootout. At least three businesses were damaged by the gunfire…
