(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The City of Colorado Springs got $2.3 million grant from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security to aid in support of and preparation for preventing acts of terrorism.
“The funding formula is looking at DOD assets more and rating those more than they have in the past. It’s not just population or the number of people in the city but looking at different threats and hazards,” Andrew Notbohm, Regional Emergency Management & Recovery Director.
According to the City, the grant will be administered through the Pikes Peak Regional Office of Emergency Management and marks the first time the city has gotten these funds.
