Colorado Teacher Arrested + Accused of Fatal Stabbing

A former teacher who taught at a K-12 school in Colorado has been arrested in connection with a recent, deadly stabbing that resulted in two injuries and one fatality.

The incident took place on Friday, October 31, 2025, which was also Halloween, in the 1400 block of North El Paso Street in Colorado Springs.

The man accused of the attack, 33-year-old Matthew Regnier, allegedly stabbed three people and, unfortunately, one of the victims succumbed to their injuries. The condition of the other two victims is largely unknown, but it has been reported that they experienced serious injuries.

In addition, it has been reported that a child was on the premises as well, though it appears that the youth was unharmed.

Who is the Colorado Man Accused of the Stabbing?

33-year-old Matthew Regnier, the man accused of carrying out the stabbings, was once a teacher at Monument Academy, a school with two locations in Colorado Springs and Monument that offers enrollment for K-12 students as well as preschool.

It’s unclear which location Regnier taught at, but it was either at 1150 Village Ridge Point in Monument or 4303 Pinehurst Circle in Colorado Springs. It also remains unclear as to why Regnier’s employment with the school ended, but we do know that he was hired to teach at Monument Academy in 2023…
