(COLORADO SPRINGS) — During an investigation on a prolific offender for alleged involvement in identity theft, motor vehicle theft, and other property crimes, Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) detectives obtained new vehicle information that helped them track down and arrest the suspect at a hotel in the 1000 block of Kelly Johnson Boulevard, according to CSPD.
CSPD reported that on Friday, Nov. 14, Metro Theft detectives identified the vehicle of suspect Miles Nordahl, whose investigation had been assigned to the Violent Offender Task Force (VOTF) due to his criminal history and the number of times he had been armed with a weapon while attempting to escape police. VOTF detectives were able to locate Nordahl in his vehicle parked outside the hotel near I-25 and North Academy Boulevard.
Detectives coordinated with K9 and Motor Vehicle Theft Unit (MVT) detectives, who assisted in apprehending Nordahl. During the incident, Nordahl tried to push his car through the vehicle blockade police had formed around him, but was unable to break free.
