Pre-evacuations lifted in Teller County

(TELLER COUNTY, Colo.) — According to a Peak Alert, the pre-evacuation notice has been lifted from the Highland Lakes subdivision.

Road closures are still in effect in the area.

ORIGINAL STORY: Road closures, pre-evac warnings due to fire near Divide

Pre-evacuation notices have been issued and road closures are in effect in Teller County near Divide due to a brush fire.

According to the Teller County Sheriff’s Office (TCSO), Highway 24 is closed between Lower Twin Rocks Road and County Road 1 due to the fire. A Peak Alert was sent out shortly after 4:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 14, placing the Highland Lakes Subdivision on pre-evacuation status. Neighbors in the warned area below should be prepared to leave at a moment’s notice.

According to TCSO, the fire is burning near Hwy 24 between Lower Twin Rocks Road and Cougar Canyon Point. TCSO urges neighbors who need extra time or help evacuating to consider leaving now…
