(EL PASO COUNTY, Colo.) — On Thursday, Nov. 20, El Paso County Sheriff Joseph Roybal administered the Oath of Office to 37 Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST)-certified deputies as part of the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office (EPSO)’s Regional Training Academy Class 25-2 Graduation Ceremony.
The ceremony was held at New Life Church in Colorado Springs, which also featured the swearing in of two new County Security personnel who will be entrusted with protecting community members who visit county facilities, according to EPSO.
“Our County Security Officers carry a significant responsibility within our mission of public safety,” stated El Paso County Sheriff Joseph Roybal. “They serve as the first line of protection for everyone who enters our county facilities—families visiting the Courthouse, neighbors seeking services at the Citizens Service Center, and families enjoying our parks and outdoor spaces. Their professionalism, vigilance, and commitment to service help ensure these spaces remain safe, accessible, and welcoming for everyone. I am proud to welcome them to our Office and grateful for their dedication to the citizens of El Paso County.”…
