CSPD: Suspect found riding stolen motorcycle

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) has confirmed the arrest of a suspect who was on the run from a multi-unit, multi-agency operation that included the U.S. Marshals Service, the Colorado State Patrol (CSP), and the Lakewood Police Department.

In their report of the arrest, CSPD states that around 2:30 p.m. on Nov. 24, detectives with the Lakewood Police Department’s Fugitive Apprehension Unit and the U.S. Marshals Southern Colorado Violent Offenders Fugitive Task Force found a suspect who had “multiple felony warrants and a history of violent crimes involving firearms”.

According to CSPD, the suspect was riding a stolen motorcycle when CSP’s Aircraft Unit followed his movements until he stopped near the 3600 block of Michigan Avenue, near the intersection of Airport Road and Chelton Road. From here, an officer with CSPD’s Unmanned Aerial Systems monitored the suspect and gave real-time updates of his movements to officers in the area…
