Rifle police make arrest of man wanted on Texas felony warrant

A routine traffic stop in Rifle on Saturday night led to the arrest of a man wanted on felony charges out of Texas, according to the Rifle Police Department.

Around 8 p.m. Nov. 29, an officer patrolling southwest Rifle stopped a vehicle displaying an expired license plate. The driver was identified as Jesus Armando Robles-Sosa, born in 2006, according to a news release.

A records check showed Robles-Sosa had an active felony warrant from the El Paso County (Texas) Sheriff’s Office. The warrant, issued Nov. 5, lists charges of aggravated sexual assault on a child, a Class 1 felony in El Paso County, and sexual indecency with a child, a Class 2 felony. His bond in that county was set at $100,000, according to police.

Robles-Sosa was taken into custody without incident and booked into the Garfield County Jail. As of Wednesday, he does not appear on the current Garfield County inmates list…
