Manitou Springs celebrates holiday with annual parade

(MANITOU SPRINGS, Colo.) — The community holiday parade returned to Manitou Springs on Sunday, Dec. 7, featuring over 40 bands, choirs, school groups, and scouting clubs.

The parade was led by the 4th Infantry Division Brass Band from Fort Carson, with Santa Claus riding atop the Manitou Springs Fire Department’s antique fire wagon. The parade route covered 7 blocks along Manitou Avenue, bringing holiday cheer to the community.

Local businesses, including Waltons Mountain Lodge, handled all the holiday decorations for the event.

“So we have the Waltons Family Lodge up on the Mountain, so we are here to do some work there, and we are here for the week, and realized that it was the Christmas parade, so we’ve actually been supporting it since it started, I think 7 years or so,” said Joshua from Waltons Mountain Lodge…
