United Way’s program supports working families in need

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — Pikes Peak United Way is providing essential support to families who are working but still struggling to make ends meet through its “United for ALICE: Holiday Hope” program.

ALICE stands for Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed, and the program helps families who earn incomes above the federal poverty level but who still struggle to afford basic necessities, often facing the difficult choice between paying for housing, childcare, food, and healthcare.

“As a community, we depend on ALICE households to keep our region running,” explained Cami Bremer, president and CEO of Pikes Peak United Way. “This holiday season, we’re extending our support to these neighbors so that the season not only brings joy but also a sense of stability and dignity.”…
