‘My first memory of him was his funeral:’ Murder conviction vacated 15 years after death of a Colorado Springs father

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) – Fifteen years after the death of a Colorado Springs father, the murder conviction for the man who admitted to killing him has been overturned.

In 2010, Eddie Wilson was found dead after being shot at an apartment complex near Chelton and Fountain. Months after his death, Robert Hunt was found in Atlanta and arrested. A man named Aaron Weston, who was reportedly in the car at the time of the shooting, was also arrested.

During court proceedings, Hunt entered a plea deal, agreeing to plead guilty to a second-degree murder charge, leading to a sentence of 40 years in prison. Weston pleaded to a manslaughter charge, according to attorneys, and spent a little more than a decade behind bars…
