(COLORADO SPRINGS) — On Wednesday, Dec. 17, a Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) Officer was traveling to work when he was rear-ended in his personal vehicle by another motorist who allegedly was using another man’s identity, according to CSPD.
CSPD said on Wednesday at around 6 a.m., an officer was driving to work in his personal vehicle when he was rear-ended in the 5300 block of Airport Road near South Powers Boulevard. According to CSPD, the motorist later identified as Matthew Langford was driving an unregistered vehicle with a fictitious plate, and his identity could not be verified immediately.
When pressed about his identity, Langford allegedly became uncooperative. CSPD said further investigation revealed that he was using another man’s identity. A search to learn Langford’s real identity allegedly revealed a number of forged documents, stolen IDs, stolen mail, burglary tools, and narcotics.
