Downtown gets a new bakery featuring Southern-style goodies — just in time for the holidays.
Downtown Colorado Springs is getting a delicious new addition just in time for the holidays. The Wild Rose Bakeshop is holding its official grand opening at 119 E. Boulder Street on Friday, Dec. 19. On the menu will be Southern-style baked goods made from scratch and served with heartfelt hospitality.
Guests will find old-fashioned cakes, fluffy cinnamon rolls and holiday-ready treats during the festive weekend, with the grand opening running . Friday, Dec. 19 through Sunday, Dec. 21,open 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Signature offerings will include pecan sticky buns, red velvet and carrot cake slices, assorted muffins and scones, whole cheesecakes and cheesecake slices and more. They’re the kind of goodies you want t o take to a holiday gathering or pickup as a last-minute gift.
The Wild Rose Bakeshop is owned by mother-daughter duo Lisa Vaughn and Brooke McKenzie, who also operate Toodles Tea Room just across the street, with Lisa’s daughter Claire Schroeder.
