Historic Spanish Mission-style church finishes renovations

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — A church built almost 100 years ago in the Spanish Mission style recently underwent extensive renovations and celebrated its grand reopening on Saturday, Dec. 20.

The Chadbourn Chapel, located across from America the Beautiful Park at 402 Conejos Street, is on the national registry of historic buildings.

Chadbourn Community Church holds services on Sundays at the chapel, and The People’s Church on Saturdays. The People’s Church began 3 years ago as a mission to the homeless community of Colorado Springs, and regularly hands out food and cold-weather survival supplies.

Those who wish to donate items such as hand warmers, gloves, clothing, sleeping bags, or financial donations to support the ministry to the homeless community may contact Reckel at (719) 291-4803…
