Dad’s Donuts consolidating to one location

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — Dad’s Donuts, known for its 109-layer treats that take four days to make, has announced that the company will be shutting down two locations in 2026, choosing to focus on the flagship downtown location on East Moreno Street.

According to the company, this comes as a decision to focus on quality over quantity, “recommit to the craftsmanship that built the company, and continue its original mission of investing directly in the heart of downtown Colorado Springs.”

“Like many growing businesses, we’ve learned important lessons along the way. Some partnerships didn’t evolve as planned, and rapid growth helped clarify where we are strongest. Rather than stretching ourselves thin, we’re choosing to double down on what we do best. This isn’t a step back, it’s a reset with intention,” said managing partner Mitchell Yellen, who also owns Altitude Hospitality Group, which includes properties like The Pinery at the Hill, Pinery North, Till, Vine and Wheel, Trainwreck, and Garden of the Gods Cafe.

The handmade cronut purveyor will still retain regular hours at 29 East Moreno Street, with sights set on a larger production facility as well as a retail location by Quarter 2 of 2026…
