Businesses on Tejon Street bid farewell to 2025

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — Tejon Street in downtown Colorado Springs reopened in September 2025 after several months of construction, which had severely impacted local businesses by blocking sidewalks and rerouting traffic.

The construction on Tejon Street resulted in reduced foot traffic to nearby shops, bars and restaurants. Morgan Orman, front desk manager at Beauty Bar, noted that many businesses, including hers, experienced a drop in customers during the construction phase.

The impact of the construction was particularly felt by older clients who found it more difficult to access the Beauty Bar due to mobility issues. Orman mentioned, “We had a lot of our older clients who have a little bit more mobility issues. They had a little harder time getting into the salon. So, they didn’t come in for a little while.”…
