(SOUTHERN COLORADO) — The El Paso-Teller County 911 Authority announced the emergency telephone charge (E911 surcharge) will increase by 65 cents starting Feb. 1, 2026.
According to the 911 Authority, Colorado statutes allow authorities to charge up to the annual maximum established by the Colorado Public Utilities Commission (PUC) without additional Commission approval. For 2026, the PUC set the maximum rate at $2.17 per access connection per month.
According to The El Paso-Teller County 911 Authority, it will be raising its surcharge from $1.35 to $2. The surcharge will appear on phone bills as “El Paso/Teller County 911 Surcharge.”…
