COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) – Westside CARES, a nonprofit organization providing services for those in need on the west side of Colorado Springs and El Paso County, is launching an exhibit this month in an effort to raise awareness for the people in the community utilizing the organization’s services.
The exhibit, called “NEIGHBORS: A New Understanding – Stories of Dignity and Grace,” will run January 2-15 at Auric Gallery in downtown Colorado Springs. According to the organization, the exhibit is made up of portraits of community members who have been served by Westside CARES and poems by the organization’s CEO.
“The exhibit of photographs, accompanied by a published book of portraits and poems, seeks to raise awareness—capturing each person’s uniqueness, honoring their stories, and inspiring a deeper commitment to care for one another,” a news release from the organization reads…
