Colorado Springs Utilities begins energy-wise rates for longtime customers

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) – Colorado Springs Utilities is changing how it charges for electricity in the new year.

Those in the Springs have already received a notice about the energy-wise rates. Utilities said customers are starting to get 30-day notices, alerting them that soon they’ll be subject to ‘peak hours’, meaning between 5 p.m. and 9 p.m. on weekdays, rates will be higher.
