Why are there dinosaur statues in Monument?

(MONUMENT, Colo.) — If you’ve seen dinosaurs on the side of I-25 near Monument, you haven’t been spontaneously transported to the Jurassic era. The dinosaurs are awaiting their placement at an upcoming mini golf course and adventure park being built south of Highway 105.

Lost Island on North Academy Boulevard said it is expanding to northern El Paso County, with a planned 40,000 square foot indoor adventure park west of I-25 in Monument. The park will be located between I-25 and Old Denver Road, across the highway from Lewis-Palmer High School.

According to a spokesperson for the park, the park will include four 18-hole mini golf courses with ADA access, a full restaurant, and a tiki bar. There will also be an outdoor tiki hut bar and lounge area.

The company said it chose Monument because of its growth and ease of access off I-25. The Monument area is also relatively close to families in Castle Rock and Denver as well as Colorado Springs…
