Colorado town of 900 has 2 breweries, while city of 62K has none

It’s no secret that Colorado loves its craft beer – and an annual report recently published by Colorado Brewery List provides the data that supports that claim.

According to Colorado Brewery List’s end-of-year report for 2025, there were 423 open brewery locations in the Centennial State as of December 31 – 340 original breweries, 42 additional locations, and 41 taprooms without brewing operations. In addition to those spots, the state was also home to 18 cideries and 20 meaderies.

As far as location goes, 38.2 percent of the state’s breweries are located in the Denver metro area – given that this part of the state makes up about half of the state’s population, that’s not much of a surprise. In total, Colorado Brewery List reports that Denver County is home to 70 brewery locations, followed by 48 in Larimer County, 40 in Boulder County, and 39 in El Paso County…
