Law enforcement teams up to arrest robbery suspect in reported stolen vehicle, Fountain police say

(EL PASO COUNTY, Colo.) — A liquor store robbery suspect has been arrested after he allegedly pointed a gun at an employee and threatened him before driving away, according to the Fountain Police Department (FPD).

According to FPD, around 10 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 6, a suspect entered the Klix Liquor Store located at 6945 Mesa Ridge Parkway and grabbed several bottles of liquor before he ran out of the store. After officers reviewed surveillance video from the business, and because of his prior law enforcement encounters, 32-year-old Tyson Dunckel was identified as the suspect.

Officers learned that when an employee followed the suspect into the parking lot of the liquor store, Dunckel allegedly pulled out a gun and pointed it at the employee before he threatened him and drove away.

To help identify the suspect’s vehicle from security cameras, the FPD’s Directed Investigation Community Engagement Unit (D.I.C.E.) requested assistance from the Colorado Springs Police Department’s (CSPD) Real Time Crime Center (RTCC) and the Metro Motor Vehicle Theft Unit…
