Southern Colorado moms, friends advocate for release of Boulder attack suspect’s family from ICE custody

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) – A group of community members are making a public announcement Monday, advocating for the release of a mother and five children from ICE custody after their husband and father, Mohamed Soliman, was named a suspect the June 2025 attack in Boulder.

Organizers say they are friends of the El Gamal family, made up of Hayam El Gamal and her five children, ages 4 to 18. Organizers say the family was actively involved in the Colorado Springs community before being detained by Immigration and Customs Enforcement in June.

Hayam El Gamal’s husband, Mohamed Soliman, is accused of throwing Molotov Cocktails at a group of pro-Israel demonstrators on June 1, killing one and injuring more than a dozen others. Soliman faces more than 100 charges, including murder federal hate crime charges…
