Chevy Corvette Driver Blames God For Wrecking Ford F-100: Video

While any automotive accident is painful – literally and figuratively – there’s something extra bad about seeing a vintage vehicle destroyed in a crash. After all, it’s easy to replace a new vehicle in most cases, but the same can’t be said of a classic produced decades ago, whether it be rare and valuable or not. That’s certainly true of this poor Ford F-100, which met its maker recently after a Chevy Corvette smashed into it.

According to KRDO13 News (and subsequently covered by our sister site, GM Authority), this painful looking incident happened on Friday, January 16th, on North Union Boulevard in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The Corvette driver reportedly lost control of their sports car before leaving the roadway and veering onto a sidewalk, after which it ran directly into the poor Ford F-100, which was parked on that particular road, wedging the sports car underneath the pickup.

The C8 Corvette driver – Charles Smith – was cited for careless driving, but as far as what caused him to leave the roadway in the first place, he’s not blaming speed or other factors – rather, he claims that he had a medical episode. Doctors believe he had a seizure while driving, as Smith doesn’t remember the incident at all, though his passenger certainly did.

“And when I came to, I looked over, and I said to the girl, ‘are you ready?’ and she said, ‘What the hell are you talking about? You just crashed this car,'” he explained. “I said, ‘I didn’t crash.’ And she pointed and said, ‘Don’t you see this car on top of us?'”

Smith believes that this all happened for a deeper reason as well, however – he purchased his Corvette after being released from prison, where he spent 20 years behind bars on robbery charges. Since then, he’s worked with others that are in need of help in terms of turning their own lives around…
