You know that mobility and access to open spaces greatly increase a person’s quality of life. That’s why Douglas County, in partnership with Tall Tales Ranch, Lone Tree, Parker Water and Sanitation District and South Suburban Parks and Recreation, is building a vital trail connection for residents of Tall Tales Ranch near RidgeGate and Havana.
On Tuesday, Jan. 27, Commissioners approved a Public Contract for Services for $215,150 for the construction of a footbridge that will span Happy Canyon Creek and serve as a critical connection to the Happy Canyon Creek Trail in Lone Tree. Funding will come from a Strong Communities Grant awarded to Douglas County for infrastructure associated with building Tall Tales Ranch development of housing for adults with IDD.
“This trail connection reflects the strength of regional partnerships among Douglas County, South Suburban, Parker Water, and the City of Lone Tree,” said Austin Good, Assistant City Manager, City of Lone Tree. “It improves access, connects residents to trails and open space, and links major new community destinations like High Note Regional Park and Tall Tales Ranch.”…
