CSPD: Alleged Community Corrections escapee caught after storage burglary

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) has confirmed the arrest of a man after a storage facility burglary, which followed his alleged escape from Community Corrections (ComCor).

According to CSPD’s official report of the arrest, an officer responded to a burglary at a Colorado Springs commercial storage facility on Saturday, Jan. 17. During their initial investigation, CSPD says the officer was able to assemble a preliminary suspect description and developed further information with CSPD’s Burglary Unit, whose detectives identitied 51-year-old Jeremy Krenz, a ComCor escapee with multiple outstanding felony and misdemeanor warrants who is also deemed as a prolific offender.

On Friday, Jan. 30, Krenz was taken into custody, and CSPD acted on a search warrant for several Colorado Springs addresses, where property from numerous storage unit thefts, which CSPD estimates to be worth over $10,000, was recovered and returned to victims…
