With fists raised in the air, numerous members of the public turned their backs to the Douglas County Board of County Commissioners as the board unanimously approved a resolution committing county support to Douglas County sheriff’s deputies in matters of civil litigation.
“This resolution presents a very false narrative,” MiDian Shofner, CEO of the Epitome of Black Excellence, said. “It seems that through this resolution, you three (commissioners) think that you sit in spaces of power. Power is of the agency of the people.”
