PEYTON, Colo. (KKTV) – A retired mounted police horse who once served in uniform is getting a second chance, thanks to a former Colorado officer who refused to let his story end in a Texas kill pen.
General, a former patrol horse, was auctioned off and quickly purchased by a slaughterhouse. With only days to spare, Rachel Weiner launched a GoFundMe to bring him to her ranch in Peyton.
