Colorado – Strong southwest winds are already sweeping across El Paso County this morning, pushing dry air over parched grasslands and raising fire danger across Colorado Springs. Gusts will strengthen through the afternoon, and any spark could spread quickly. If you’re driving along I-25 or Highway 50, expect sudden crosswinds and blowing dust.
According to the National Weather Service in Pueblo, a Red Flag Warning remains in effect from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday for gusty winds and low relative humidity. Southwest winds will range from 15 to 25 mph, with gusts up to 50 mph today and up to 60 mph Tuesday. Humidity may drop as low as 11 percent. Outdoor burning is strongly discouraged…
