Black Hills Energy issues Emergency ‘Public Safety Power Shutoff’ warnings for several parts of southern Colorado

PUEBLO, Colo. (KKTV) – UPDATE (2/17/26, 6:30 p.m.): Black Hills Energy said 90 customers were without power for around four hours Tuesday.

At this time, Black Hills Energy said there are no definite plans to conduct an Emergency Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS) on Wednesday, but crews will be monitoring conditions.

UPDATE (2/17/26, 10:56 a.m.): Black Hills Energy announced Tuesday morning that the Emergency Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS) Watches in some impacted areas have been updated to a PSPS warnings.
