Fire Chief Randy Royal and CSFD to serve as Grand Marshals for St. Patrick’s Day Parade

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The Colorado Springs St. Patrick’s Day Parade Committee recently selected Fire Chief Randy Royal and the Colorado Springs Fire Department (CSFD) to serve as the Grand Marshals of the 42nd Annual Colorado Springs St. Patrick’s Day Parade.

This choice is to celebrate the over 800,000 calls for service that were completed by the men and women of CSFD in 2025. Among the firefighters attending the parade, Engine #5 will be driven to honor the life of Retired Fire Captain Patrick Rogacki, who passed away in August 2025 from illnesses related to his heroic work at Ground Zero on Sept. 11’s terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center.

“We’re excited to be honored in this way, and one of the reasons that we are excited about it, particularly this year, you know, the St Patrick’s Day parade has had a long history of being in our community and being a great event. But when John and I talked about this, the one thing that stood out to me is this is the 25th year of 9/11. And so that brings a lot of important things back to us. And, you know, as we remember what happened 25 years ago, I think this is a great time to honor what our firefighters do each and every day to serve our community,” said Fire Chief Randy Royal…
