Jury trial continues for suspect accused in UCCS professor’s stabbing death

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — Ceasar Lorenzo Wilson, the man accused of fatally stabbing University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS) professor Haleh Abghari in 2024, entered his second week of a jury trial in El Paso County Court on Monday, Feb. 23, according to court documents.

54-year-old Wilson was arrested on March 27, 2025, in connection with the death of Abghari eight months earlier. He faces felony charges of Second-Degree Murder, Violent Crime – Used Weapon, Violent Crime – Cause Death, First-Degree Burglary – Armed with Explosives/Weapon, Robbery/Aggravated – Would/Strike with Weapon, Second-Degree Motor Vehicle Theft, ID Theft – Uses Info to Obtain, Theft – Less than $300, and Habitual Crime. Wilson pleaded not guilty to the charges.
