Survey seeks public input on closing Goldfield Drive

SECURITY-WIDEFIELD, Colo. (KKTV) – The window for public comment on a proposal to turn Goldfield Drive into a trail is closing soon.

The El Paso County engineer told 11 News some property owners in the area, including Fountain Valley School and The Fountain Mutual Irrigation Company, want Goldfield Drive closed off to vehicles and turned into a trail that would connect to the other trails around Big Johnson Reservoir.

The nearby property owners said illegal dumping and vandalism happen along the road and create safety concerns…
