Man accused of stealing from Cripple Creek casino sentenced

TELLER COUNTY, Colo. — A man who was arrested last summer for jumping into a cashier’s cage at a Cripple Creek casino has been sentenced after pleading guilty to two charges.

Court records show that Andrew Irvine, 26, from Colorado Springs, pleaded guilty to second-degree burglary of an occupied commercial structure and theft of $1,000-$2,000. Irvine was sentenced to two years probation on the theft charge, and received a two-year deferred sentence on the burglary charge. Other charges in the case were dismissed.

Cripple Creek Police said in an arrest affidavit that the suspect was caught on surveillance cameras at J.P McGill’s Casino jumping over a counter into a cashier’s cage, opening the cash drawer and grabbing “a substantial amount of cash.”…
