A commission created to improve the relationship between the Colorado Springs Police Department and residents will recommend its own disbandment to City Council. The vote to disband The Law Enforcement Transparency and Advisory Commission, or LETAC, came after a robust discussion about the risks and opportunities inherent in words like “disband” versus “reenvision.”

For the majority of the board, the conversation on semantics was rooted in the concern around what Council would, should, or could do next.
