Snow and rain expected in Southern Colorado, advisories in place

(SOUTHERN COLORADO) — A developing storm system will bring rain and snow to parts of Southern Colorado through the day and into this evening.

The Wet Mountains, northern Sangre de Cristo Mountains, and the Upper Arkansas River Valley have the best chance for heavier snowfall. More than six inches is possible, with a few isolated areas approaching a foot, especially along higher east-facing slopes. Winter Weather Advisories are in place for these areas.

Rain and snow showers will expand into the I-25 corridor and eastern plains during the afternoon, then shift northeast by evening. In the Pikes Peak Region, the greater likelihood of accumulation favors the Palmer Divide and Teller County, which are also under Winter Weather Advisories…
