CSPD: Three men allegedly broke into vacant home of recently deceased

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) said on Sunday, March 8, three men allegedly broke into a home where the owner had recently died.

On Sunday, at around 6:30 p.m., officers were called to a home in the 1000 block of South Weber Street, east of the Motor City curve. CSPD said a neighbor reported the house was vacant as the owner had recently died, and reported suspects were in the backyard removing valuables.

A Real Time Crime Center (RTCC) drone was the first on the scene and recorded three men. Officers arrived, and the three men ran from the area. The RTCC drone was able to track two of the men to a Maverik gas station on South Nevada Avenue. The operator of the drone allegedly saw a suspect attempting to change his appearance…
