Hit-and-run crash preceded by firearm disturbance

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — As officers investigated a hit-and-run traffic crash on Saturday, March 14, they learned from several witnesses that a disturbance involving a firearm had taken place right before the incident, according to the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD).

CSPD reported that at around 8:45 a.m. on Saturday, officers were dispatched to the intersection of West Colorado Avenue and 18th Street in response to a hit-and-run traffic crash. When they arrived, officers identified several witnesses and learned that before the crash, there was a disturbance involving a firearm between several of the vehicles involved in the crash.

Officers collected evidence at the scene and are conducting further follow-up to identify all the people involved. One of the people involved in the crash was taken to the hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening…
