DENVER (KDVR) — A man and a woman accused of taking money dispensed from an ATM in Highlands Ranch after a man using the machine “briefly stepped away,” were arrested earlier this month.
The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said Monday that the alleged victim was withdrawing cash from the ATM when it failed to dispense money. After briefly stepping away, the ATM dispensed the money and a man and a woman were observed “taking the cash and fleeing the area.”

Deputies “quickly arrived,” and began searching the area, according to the sheriff’s office, which said a drone was also deployed to assist in the search. Both suspects were ultimately located a short time later and taken into custody.
The sheriff’s office said deputies, during the investigation, recovered the full amount of cash that had allegedly been taken and also located drug paraphernalia. Both suspects were also found to have outstanding warrants…
