Kids playing with matches accused of starting Douglas County fire

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) – The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office (DCSO) is warning the community about how fast fires can start and spread in the current conditions.

Deputies said they responded to a grass fire near I-25 and West Tomah Road on Friday. The fire reportedly burned less .21 acres before it was knocked down.

Due to the location and speed of the fire spreading, deputies said one family had to be evacuated. No structures ended up being affected…
